Aryna Sabalenka
Her birthplace was Minsk located in Belarus. Sergey Her father (who passed away in 2019) was an ice hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka was born Minsk, Belarus on May 5th of 1998. Aryna is the holder of twelve WTA Singles titles, one of which was named "Grand Slam" during the Australian Open 2023. Doubles is an additional area in which she shines. The US Open 2019, and Australian Open 2021 were both taken by Elise Mertens. Together with her fellow Belgian tennis star, she won the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells as well as Miami in 2019 thus making her the Sunshine Double. Only four women's doubles teams achieve this feat. In January 2023, she surpassed her top ranking in singles. On 23rd August 2021, she rose to the second spot in the world rankings. In doubles however she pushed herself to the top of the list at the beginning of February that year, following the win in Melbourne becoming thus the second tennis player from Belarus to be a part of this specialty. Dmitry Tursunov (a former Russian tennis player) was her coach for a portion of the season in 2019 as well as from the year 2018 until closing. Dieter Kindlmann and her were briefly together between August and September of 2020. Antonio Dubrov has been her coach since the year 2020. Serena Williams & Maria Sharapova have been her inspirations.
